CHRSL/C2K PROUDLY SUPPORTS THE FOLLOWING ATHLETES
Jack Steblina year 11 Oakhill College, Castle Hill.
Jack’s team will be leaving on the 6th of April travelling, along with 35 other boys, to New Zealand.
Jack approached Carlos (Centre Manager) as to whether C2K would like to sponsor him.
Not only would they sponsor me, but the offered three months free membership, personal training and a free tub of protein! This is more than I had expected.
I am now 2 months into training at I have noticed the difference, I have put on 3 of the 5 kilo's I had planned too.
The tour is ten days long and we will be playing 3 games during that time. For a few of the nights we will be billeting with some families over there.
On the trip we will be going to the Te Papa Museum(Maori Culture) in Wellington, Site seeing in Christchurch, attending Waratahs vs Crusaders, Seeing Mt. Cook, Exploring the Tasman Glacier, visiting the Sir Edmund Hillary Centre, Helicopter Tour, Jet Boating, taking go carts down Bobs Peak, shopping, and then heading home, all in 10 days.
Without C2K's continues support some of these activities would not be available.
Adam Spencer
Adam was targeted for representative honours early, playing for the Hills association from Under-12's, touring Japan with the NSWJBL Under-13's and making the NSW state team in Under-14's, Under-16's and Under-18's.
However the highlight of his time in junior baseball was playing for Australia in the World Series in Aberdeen, Maryland, in 2003, and again in the Under-19 World Championships in Edmonton, Canada in 2008.
Following his outstanding performance at the Australian Under-18 National Baseball Championships in Perth in January 2008 he was signed by the Chicago Cubs. Six organizations chased the signature of the 17-year old from New South Wales, but in the end it was the Cubs who landed Adam, with the young pitcher agreeing to a package worth well into six figures.
Adam spent his first season overseas, last year from March to September and returned home for his off-season. During this time he trains at C2K gym, preparing himself for his next season. Adam follows his training program at the gym 4-5 time a week, focusing on his strength and fitness. He returns to the USA on the 5th of March, to play in the minor leagues until early September.
James Kaan
In 2008 James won the Australian U20 800m Championship & posted 5 World Junior qualifying performances including a personal best time for the 880m of 1.47:62. Subsequently he was selected for the IAAF World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz Poland, where once again he made the 800m final finishing a credible 8th place.
James has been a member of C2k & sponsored C2K Athlete since 2006. GYM work with a focus on developing core strength and stability, explosive power, and flexibility is a significant part of James training program. James has benefited greatly from the expert advice and assistance he has received from C2K Personal Trainers and wonderful support GYM management have given him over the last 3 years.
James is currently training & preparing for the Australian Track and Field Championships & Commonwealth Games Trials which are in Perth WA April 2010
Nicholas Watts
I have been a sponsored member of C2K Gym for the past 8 years in which time I have trained and competed for Australia in Disabled ski racing. I have been a member of the Australian Paralympic Alpine Ski team for 6 years and I have competed at a number of international competitions including the 2004 World Championships in Wildschenau, Austria, the 2006 winter Paralympics in Torino, Italy and numerous World, European and North American Cup series. I am currently training to compete in the 2010 winter Paralympics in Vancouver, Canada.
